Yayoi Kusama "I Adore Myself" Film

Trailer for Near Equal Yayoi Kusama: I Adore Myself, a documentary by Takako Matsumoto. The film had its US premiere in July, 2008, at New York's Japan Society.

For those who don't know of yayoi's work. Watch this little documentary. She talks about everything from warhol to her "love forever" happenings. She is truly an inspiration to the world. We don't ever want geniuses to die.

Mr. Toledano

We have been looking at a lot of photography lately for drawing references and recently we stumbled across Mr. Toledano... all i can say is it was love at first sight. We are totally blown away at the quality/ideas of his work.

Check out his site here.

The Abandoned Spacecraft City of San Zhr

"This pod city might have been a holiday destination for those who dream of living in a futuristic fairytale. But from what little is written about San Zhi in English, it appears construction was abandoned as the project was just weeks from completion.

There seems to be nothing wrong with the structure architecturally. Apart from the fabulous design, it seems a functional concept. Some speculate it was designed to build more pods vertically, if demand increased. Apparently, construction was halted as a number of fatal accidents plagued construction. Ghost stories abound, (but then again, there are bloggers who still believe in Midgetville.) The buildings have since been left to rot."

Some of our Favorite Things At The Moment

Little Britain
This show is probably the best show we have seen in a very long time. We just found out about this show a couple days (i know i know we don't watch TV) ago when reading about johnny depp begging to be on the next season of little britain USA. So we got around to seeing the first episode of this season on HBO and we were hooked. We ventured out immediately and got season 3 that came out on the bbc. So good!

El Perro Del Mar
Hearing her music gives us the chills. If you are a fan of the beach boys and the spector sound you defiantly have to check out our albums. The song "how do we forget?" of the album "From The Falley To The Stars" has been on repeat all day.  Do yourself a favor and buy er albums  immediately. We could go on and on about how beautiful El Perro Del Mar music is but you would get rather bored of that. Just see for yourself. I wish you could just turn on the radio and hear songs like hers come out of it.
Check out her myspace.

"god knows (you gotta give to get)" from the self titled album.

The Enemy

Working late on a saturday/sunday morning. The enemy is hitting the spot. Great band.

Subodh Gupta "The Damien Hirst of Delhi"

"These are incredibly sophisticated people who have travelled all over the world and educated themselves about contemporary art in Europe and the US," says Nagy, who has also backed Gupta's creations. "They came back here and realised such a talent like Subodh was just doing the craziest shit. It is both visionary and a no-brainer".

The Most Alien-Looking Place on Earth

"We covered some otherwordly places before (see, for example, Bolivian Salt Lake, or The Richat Structure), but this island simply blows away any notion about what is considered "normal" for a landscape on Earth."
